On

The day had started so well he thought as he pushed past a nurse to get equipment in place. He really wasn't looking forward to the baptism of fire his department was about to have with him in the lead. That wasn't something that he wasn't trained for or for that matter something that he was unaccustomed to. He pushed thoughts of his family out of his mind as he pulled a tray of hyper sprays towards him.

"Lt. what do we need?" Was a question he felt like answering gruffly. "Trauma kits, plenty of them. No idea what we might have to face, lets start with dermal regenerators. Make sure we have enough tricorders to go around. Then lets have the surgical suites ready to go and teams ready to take cases as needed." Lewis said to his head nurse who nodded. He didn't need to hear a yes doctor from people, he just needed people to do the job they were trained for.

"They couldn't just let us have one day off." He said sarcastically as he felt the deck plating vibrate beneath his feet. He paid it no mind, if things started to blow up around him that would be when he would let himself think about the problems else where. "Computer activate Emergency Medical Hologram." He said and watched the familiar figure appear in front of him and was unpleasantly surprised to find that the greeting was still the same. Someone needed to give these things a sense of humour at the very least he thought to himself. "We have incoming casualties expected, please assist the rest of the staff in preparing for trauma." He said then turned not waiting for an answer the huff made him smile. Everything was as ready as it was ever going to be. He could fuss but without knowing what he was facing, it would be pointless.
